It’s your big day! You’re getting married and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing. If you’re not cool with the usual ballroom, then ditch that plan. Who said one has to follow the traditional route anyway? Go for something that truly spells you. Here’s my list of top 10 unique spots in Singapore for you to hold your wedding. I hope it sparks some inspiration in you!
1. WATERFRONT
There is something tranquil and serene about water. When you think of romance, the beach is the first place that comes to mind. With the smell and sound of waves, you could truly blow your guests away with a wedding by the beach.
Tanjong Beach @ Sentosa as one of the lesser crowded beaches in Sentosa gives one a sense of intimacy. You would love to get married on a pristine sand with swaying palm trees at Tanjong Beach Club.
For a romantic Sunset Wedding, you could try 1 Twenty Six @ East Coast.

2. ANIMAL HAVEN
Wanna get married in the world’s best rainforest zoo? Try Singapore Zoological Gardens, where lush greenery and majestic wildlife roam. You could even ride in a horse carriage or on an elephant to make your grand entrance. I remember attending a zoo wedding once when I was a little child, and I loved it. They even gave out cute stuffed animals during the banquet!
Singapore Bird Park offers a unique ambience of colourful birds (home to 600 exotic species) and cascading waterfalls. Pretty pink flamingoes also serve as a perfect backdrop for photos.
3. MUSEUM/HISTORICAL BUILDING
If you love art and culture, The Arts House (formerly known as The Old Parliament Building) is definitely the venue to pick. The prestigious brown wood furnishings of the Chamber just adds a whole new dimension to your wedding.
Check out Willie and Meryl’s wedding video @ The Arts House.
Also, check out blog posts done up by Raihan & Sophia & Miss Mandy for weddings they attended at The Arts House!
You could also go artsy and colonial with Singapore Arts Museum for your big day.

6. RESTAURANT/CAFE
There are actually many hidden beautiful food places in Singapore. But when uncovered, you can truly see the beauty and uniqueness these individual places possess. The best thing about these stand alone restaurants/cafes is that you can afford to book the whole venue for your wedding, allowing you to create that intimate and private setting that you might wish to enjoy (as compared to having it in a huge ballroom in a huge hotel). Here are some popular ones.
Rochester Park is a charming enclave that has many beautiful places. You could choose to get married at 1-Rochester, amongst verdant hillside surroundings and a colonial ambience of black and white bungalows. 1-host, their official wedding planning company can also help you with your wedding needs!
You all know Timbre for it’s rock and roll bands & good music. It’s alfresco setting and bar makes good for a hip and haps wedding party. What’s exciting for your guests is you could transform into a night party with a band rockin’ through the night.
PS Cafe is one of my favourite cafes on Dempsey Hill/Harding Road. This would make a perfect setting.
Go on top of the world at Equinox (Swissotel).
7. COUNTRY CLUB/RESORT
Amara Sanctuary Resort has ‘delightful tropical surroundings and nostalgic architecture’ for your big day. Plus, it even has a glass pavilion with glass chairs!
Situated atop a cliff set amidst acres of tropical gardens, Sentosa Resort & Spa is a venue with class and elegant luxury.
8. IN THE AIR
You could even go a little extreme. Catch a helicopter ride and take your solemnization vows near the clouds. Of course, guest capacity might be a teeny bit of a problem. (Though you can solve that by having a video live feed channel the special moment right down to ground level where they might be seated in comfy chairs.)
But if you’re looking for something simpler to coordinate with a nice rooftop view, you could go 282 metres above sea level with 1- Altitude.
or choose Marina’s Sands Skypark, which will truly show you that the sky’s the limit with its beautiful Marina skyline.
You could try Singapore Flyer, which is 165 metres above ground level and you’ll have the amazing Marina Bay skyline at your feet. Though, this is only suitable for a smaller guestlist of 26 pax, it would make for a lovely private wedding.
9. CHAPEL
Go for traditional with Chijmes, which has the perfect charm and ambience of a chapel. This would be my favourite place for a wedding.

10. YACHT WEDDING IN THE OPEN SEA
Go for a yacht wedding in the open sea with Marina Bookings/White Sails, or choose to have it by the docks. Both will be equally romantic and memorable, and will form lasting impressions in your guests.
& here’s wishing that you’ll find the perfect location for your big day. 🙂
*Tip: Find a venue that is situated near a hotel where you can book a beautiful room for your makeup, hairdo and after-wedding night. It’ll be super convenient, and saves time for hassle and travel.
